My Day....

I want to win something...yes, I want to win something BIG. Like $10,000 or a new car,
a TV set would be nice. I would like to know how it feels to be lucky. I enter a lot of free contests, but my winnings are still at zero. I see all these contest winners on tv jumping up and down would like it to be me just once. I'm not even being greedy, I could have said I'd like to win a million zillion dollars, but $10,000 would suit me just fine.
Another hot day in the old town today, 104 or 105... and more coming.
My phone service went out the phone had a awful screeching dial tone, I couldn't call out. Why is it the first thing I think when the phone or lights go out is....hey, did I pay the last bill?
Anyhow I called the phone company on my cell and waited 15 minutes to talk to a computer that informed me I didn't have "pro-wire" and if they send out a tech guy I'd have to pay him something like $50 an hour! What the heck is that? I looked at my bill and every month I am paying the $2 plus for this service, so I called the company back on my cell and waited another 15 minutes to speak to a human being I told her what the stinking stupid computer told me. She checked it out and I was covered. After I did all this I checked my land line phone again and it was working I had a dial tone, so I had to call back the phone co and this time the wait was even longer and cancel the request for repairs. The human told me if I "really" wanted to cancel...if they do that and the phone stops working again, it will probably be Monday before anyone can come and check it out, she said to wait and if it is still ok later in the evening to call and cancel.
Around 11PM all systems were go so I called back the phone company and waited 10 minutes to tell a human not to send anyone out here. Why or why did the break up Ma Bell? I am keeping my fingers crossed that when I wake up tomorrow morning my phone is still working and I don't have to do all this again!!
