My friend JG lost her fight with cancer yesterday afternoon...the good die young. Makes me realize we are all only mortals.
"You don't have beetles" the guy told me. I already knew I was beetle free "but how about the pine tree?" I asked the tree guy. The tree seems to be dying off slowly, he cut some of its dead branches to give it "air" and shook all the brown pine needles off it. All I need to do is water it 3 times a week.. dig a trench around it and buy some junk at Home Depot...
R called me shortly before 8AM....like what the hey? I have discovered R only calls when R is in the kitchen and bored. Am I just a cure for R's boredom?
People keep telling me to get out more...I would if I could...but they just don't get it. They don't understand how I feel, and how somedays getting out is a difficult thing to do. Oh well, I guess we all have our own problems to deal with.
The weather has warmed up to the mid 80's...

I have a bee in the house...and I don't mean Aunt Bea...it's a bumble bee. First heard it buzzing round the lamp bulb by my chair...I chased it out of there and it flew to the front window, I tried to hit it with a rolled up newspaper but I missed (by a mile) and now I don't know where it is hiding. Silently I walked from room to room to see if I could hear it...but nothing. I feel like it is waiting somewhere to ambush me when I least expect it. This is not a laughing matter...the bee may attack at any moment, and now it is super mad at me for trying to kill it. What to do? What to do?
Nothing is more boring then to stand around with the phone attached to your ear. I was put on hold for 18 minutes by the electric company, at least the music was ok...not good...just ok. To give credit when it's due they did answer my question quickly...."yes the amount billed was correct"...not the answer I wanted to hear. lol

So I paid for my groceries with a $50. bill....and the clerk looked at it for a long time, then he turned it over ansd stared at the back side some more before looking at the front again rubbing it with his fingers...man, I felt like a crook standing there in line with all the other shoppers behind me. He never said a word, I thought for sure he was going to call the manager...or the cops! lol
I need to put gas in the tank but it hurts my stomach when I have to throw money to thr wind for gasoline, so I put it off. Maybe I should start pushing my car to wherever I need to go...kind of pretend I'm driving? I forgot to mention yesterday that the mechanic told me I can clean the battery clamps with Coke, he said to pour a little Coke right on the clamps and then rinse it off with water. It will clean up all that white acid stuff that clings to the clamps quick. I never heard of that before, I always use baking soda mixed in with a little water. I'll have to give it a try. My bucket of bolts started up really good this morning. I trimmed the bush by the garage door but not much because it is forming some kind of pink buds on it now and I want to see what the flowers will look like. Happy Birthday YP

My car battery died this morning!! I sure didn't need that extra expense....but there is nothing I can do. At least it died in my garage, that is better than in some parking lot. So now I have a new $69 battery in my heap of junk I call a car....it's the only thing new in it. By the time I got it replaced I didn't want to go out and do what I had set out to do...am I rambling? Hopefully tomorrow I'll get back on track. I heard about the man in Alta, Ca. who was inside his own home when a sink hole under the house opened up and swallowed him!!! That is so strange and so sad. Everyone just assumes to be safe in their own homes. News said there may had been an old gold mine under the house that no one knew about. My prayers go out to his family.
My ankle is swollen and hurts, I have no idea what happened to it, I could have twisted it without noticing? But how could that happen? You'd think I'd feel something like that?
While out for a walk I saw a pretty round rock, it was flat and had like stripes running through it...I would have took it if it were not in a neighbor's front yard...lol I have a small rock collection...hey, it's a cheap hobby!! I once bought a 5 lb. jar of polished River Rocks...they are neat. In ancient times polished rocks were presented as gifts to Chinese emperors...true story, it said so right on the jar! Happy rock hunting

Today we went to the Woodland Iris Farm and looked at irises....how "exciting" is that?
When we left my eyes were itchy and I sneezed a zillion times. Anyway, the flowers were pretty, violet yellow pink etc. You could buy bulbs if you were so inclined. I love the old windmill they have on the property, you don't see many windmills around here anymore.
Also stopped by Earth Day Fair at the park down down, wandered from booth to booth for awhile.
I sent MV a birthday ecard apparently that wasn't enough she sent me a email saying why I didn't call her. Maybe because she is always insulting when I do phone...and brags about having more money than she can spend...fun things like that...so why should I spend money I don't have to call her long distance? Maybe I'm just being mean, but that's how I feel about it.
I have been doing some genealogy research and one woman in a forum I belong to has been so extra nice to me...there are some good people left in this world. It just makes me feel good.
I've been googling pictures of Victorian houses in San Francisco, discovered there is a walking tour of the homes, I'd love to do that some day. I always dreamed of living in such a house...maybe I did in a previous life. I believe in recarnation...you just keep coming back until you get it right!! In my case I think I'll experience many more lifetimes....lol I have a strong feeling that in one lifetime I was a Native American Indain and lived in a tee pee and before that I was in Italy and was a Waldenses and lived in a small househigh in on hill.

It must be Friday?? This morning I sat in front of the computer and looked at the black screen and waited and waited for it to turn on....then I remembered I didn't boot up!!! Duh... Someone should invent a computer that will read your mind. I haven't much to say...R stood me up again but what else is new...E and I went out for fish and chips tonight, guess it beats burgers and fries, although chips are fries but eating fish and fries just wouldn't sound right. Queen E turned 80 today...I do enjoy the BBC news it is just sooo much better than what we have here in the states. Have you bought a tank of gas lately? Wow Whee the cheapest I found was $3.09 a gallon at a self serve station. What is going to happen if the price keeps going up and up? Vespas and bikes may soon become our favorite modes of transportation.

I haven't posted here because reading the DaVinci Code is keeping me up away from the computer. It is excellent, so many twists and turns. I googled Opus Dei, Prioty of Sion, Knights Templar and pictures of the Last Supper. I love a book that makes you think!!! Dan Brown is a wonderful mystery writer.
Today R and I visited old Uncle L...he had a dandelion (weed) growing by his house that had to be 4 feet tall. I never saw a weed that big in my life.
Went to the grocery store and was surprised to find pre-colored Easter eggs in the egg compartment. What will they think of next? I forgot to check on the price.
Pulled some weeds in the front yard until I started sneezing. There is a sweet scent in the air, I don't know where it is coming from. The sun was out all day but more rain is suppose to be headed this way. I couldn't believe it was 90 degrees in Kansas City and in the 60's here...this world has gone mad.

I'm such a jerk, when people tell me they are going to do something, I actually believe they are going to do it! When will I learn? Don't want to go into details, but it happened to me again and then this person phones and acts like nothing happened!! Give me a break! I am about half way through the project I forced myself to do, waiting for some papers to arrive in the mail and that takes forever. We get so spoiled by emails and instant messaging. All week "they" have been predicting rain this weekend and as I gaze out the window I see bright sunshine...(no, I won't count the cars again...lol) I watched people flying kites in the park, I haven't done that in ages, I find a simple act like kite flying to be so much fun. What pleasure can be derived from paper and a long piece of string! Uncle A and I used to kite fly together a long time ago...ahh, those were the days! So if I tell you one day to go fly a kite, you'll know I meant it in a nice way. ha ha
Weekend tv viewing is so boring...I'd like to ask the networks one question...why?
It appears GW is getting crazier, it was reported he wants to nuke Iran to prevent them from nuking others? What the heck????? Talk like that is insane. Can't we impeach an insane president...or doesn't anyone care anymore? And how about the gospel according to Judas? Wow, that will be worth a read.

A sad day! I walked 4 blocks to the mailbox earlier today to deposit a letter. Much to my surprise I found a notice taped to it "Due to low usage this box will be taken away April 4, 2006. The nearest mailbox to this location is XYZ Street" Horror!!! The loss of my favorite mailbox is hard to take. I'll miss the old box, I watched it being repaired and painted, I watched it get back on its feet after a car crashed into it. I used this mailbox to send out my Christmas cards and invitations, I used the box to pay my bills...the box knew me well and I knew him. Good luck my metal friend, may you find a grand location in the sunshine and may your new friends love you as much as I did.

There's no fool like an old fool...and this is my day!!
Someone tried to trick me about the next episode of Lost being broadcast today but I was not fooled. When it comes to Lost I am knowledgeable...about important things in life, not so. lol
This has been a depressing week, my energy is down, my out look about life is gloomy I just can't seem to get out of this rut. Even news I get from friends is sad, about hospital stays and surgeries...I just want to run for the hills. I haven't heard from D in a month now, the last time he wrote he told me I was the best friend he ever had...and then nothing from him. Since he is a e-pal I don't have a phone number to call him. I just hope and pray he is alright. If you see this D please write!!! Thanks. Went to see Uncle L, all is well with him. We had buffalo wings for lunch. How did buffalo wings get their name? Didn't people want to eat chicken wings? Inquiring minds want to know. ha ha It poured down rain yesterday afternoon even had some hail mixed in with it and the thunder was loud. Exciting weather. Saw some seagulls overhead and we are 100 miles from the coast line. The gulls make me think of Fisherman's Wharf and of crab legs I just hate to see the live crab dropped into those big boiling pots. Makes me want to protest, free the unlucky crabs from nets. Vegans have it all right...but I like chicken to much to become one...but they have my praises. May the force be with you!!!!
