New Year Greetings....

Happy New Year
"Three things to best avoid for the New Year;
a strange dog,
a flood,
and a man who thinks he is wise"
This is from a Welsh proverb and I find it to be very true...wishing everyone a great 2007...

Holidays..

Wish I had something "Christmasy" to say...but today I cleaned rain gutters and then took an online survey about the best way to kill rats. If these 2 things don't get me in a holiday mood I don't know what will. lol Oh, how about the bills that arrive with the cards everyday...and why aren't they the usual utility bills but instead are the "big" ones for house and auto insyrance and property taxes? Talk about putting the Grinch in Christmas....Bah humbug!!
My shopping is done, except do I buy candies or something for the mailman? He is a nice guy, but I don't actually see him that often. Who expects a present? Certainly not the garbage guys...or do they? Will the dump my junk in the middle of the street if they don't get a gift?
Will the mailman delived my mail to the neighbor as a sign of protest?
So many decisions, so little time. I want to look at a scary movie on TV....not "Elf"....I don't need cheerfulness....or do I? lol I can always go back to thinking about killing rats....Have a good day.

Five years ago today my Mom passed away.
Her innumerable acts of compassion will
remain with me.
"In the night your butterfly wings embrace me.
In the daylight, I dance in the sun
in your garden"
I send you my love.

Eeeeekkkkk!

Another adventure of "I Love Lucy"... but this one is true. This noon I was making myself a sandwich on the kitchen counter when all of a sudden a bug looking like a huge black ant crawled swiftly by my bread...shocked I didn't know what to hit it with so I grabbed the slice of lunch meat that was on the bread and already half covered with mayo...and used it to swacked the ant. So now I was without a sandwich and couldn't find the crawly thing dead or alive anywhere. He may live to attack another day? There should be a lesson learned in this but I don't know what it is!!!

Welcome Cowboy...

"Your kitchen looks like a saloon"....those were his exact words as he flung open the doors. It was Jim's first time inside the house. I have "saloon" type swinging doors you must go through to enter the kitchen, but I don't have a bar or barstools or shelves of bottles... but my wallpaper is pretty crazy...maybe I should re-decorate? Anyhow his remark made me laugh. These doors come in handy to display holiday cards every year, I just insert them into the slots, and wham bang it's a Christmas decoration! I have been busy in my "saloon"---I mean kitchen, addressing cards while watching football games on TV. That is sort of a saloony thing to do...the football at least! lol
