Nothing 4 Nothing

Today I was at the drug store and I overheard a woman asking the druggist why her 4 year old always has a stuffy nose...he looked at her very seriously and replied "because he has a lot of snot in it"....I laughed out loud!! I haven't heard the word 'snot' used in years.
I did a lot of errands today and talked awhile to the new neighbors, I need to do that more often, but I've never been much of a talker. My check arrived a day late but I got it. Our mailman makes his stop here about 4:30pm, it's always been that way. If I get any mail that I have to respond to quickly...ie: payment is overdue, insufficent funds...I always have to wait until the next day to straighten things out. Very annoying. Now I heard on a TV commercial that mail may be delivered even later because the government wants to cut down of postal workers and offices, and mail may come 1 week late....what a mess that would be.

Went to Target today to buy a coffee maker....I have only one complaint...there were to many to choose from. I must have spent an hour looking at all the coffee makers, some do amazing things. I wish things were like in the old days when people had a choose between 1 or 2, then it would be easy to make a decision. Next I need to buy a toaster...I already glanced at how many were on the shelves....I feel a panic attack coming on.
Visited Uncle L for a bit... and I had lunch at R's house...I was in good spirits until I got home and looked in my mailbox and my pay check didn't arrive!! Hope it comes tomorrow. I shouldn't stress out about it but I do, can't help it, it's just the way I am.

OK so this is how the week transpired.
Sunday I had company.
Tuesday I was wearing clog type shoes while driving, my foot slipped between the gas pedal and brakes, and I thought the gas pedal had fallen off! Talk about a panic attack! But the gas pedal was where it was suppose to be, just my shoes were to big!
Wednesday the gas company came to check the pilot light on my furnace and found a natural gas leak! They repaired it. It's a good thing I never turned on the heat.
Thursday I heard that C is experiencing a lot of pain and the news made me feel bad.
Friday I watched the wind blow, we had gusts up to 65mph.
Today I am trying to mellow out.

I'm happy to report that yesterdays meeting with the online stranger turned out very well.
We talked for 5 hours and he was a nice guy. So every meeting that occurs via the net is not bad. But I can say it made me very nervous. Before he arrived I gave 2 friends his name and email address 'just in case'...and later they checked to see if I was okay. I'm fine and I may again meet with internet guy and talk about 'business'...that is not a lie, it is solely a business replationship.
Today was a non-productive day, I watched the 9'ers win...hurray!! And watched a Latino parade on Spanish TV from Los Angeles. Since I know very little Spanish I don't know what the parade was for...but it was nice.

Tomorrow at 2PM I'm meeting a guy I met on the internet for shall I say a 'business deal' it is not a date or a romance or anything like that...he is coming to my house. I was okay about it until I heard all sorts of scary internet stories from friends. Oh well, it is too late to worry about it now. I do have his name and telephone number if that is any help. lol
It cooled off to 77 today but the cool temps won't last long. My friend PH emailed, her dog died,
her cat died, her parakeet died all in a matter of a couple of weeks. P said she is 'living in a death house' I need her to stop thinking like that. All her pets were old...very very old.
This may turn out to be an interesting weekend....lol

He was always the best!

A guy came out today to measure the front window. Need a new one because the old window pane has a rock hole in it. (At least I hope it was a rock and not a bullet hole) This guy entered the living room spread his arms open like airplane wings and said that window is 4 feet plus so many inches across. I asked him if he needed a tape measure to do that. He said "no" he can tell the measurements by just "looking" at the window. Well, I hope he is right and accurate and all that. His way of measuring was a new one on me...lol
The BBQ had a few "glitches" that I won't mention on this blog...my predictions came to pass...
one person took control but later had to surrender to the mob's wishes...a cat became the main attraction of the day and eased the tension.

Om...Om....Om....Om...
I need to relax, a simple family bar-b-que has turned to chaos. A certain person first tried and then succeeded in becoming boss over everyone and everything. Changing plans and menus, inviting people without asking first, changing the time of the gathering etc. making we mere mortals look stupid in the process. What was suppose to be fun and easy-going is now stress and confusion...not only by me but by nearly all the other guests plus the host. How do you stop a controlling person? Why is everyone afraid to say "no" to the brute? Why isn't the event going to be fun anymore? Why can't I stay home?

My plans for this weekend are already going haywire. A friend who was suppose to host a party suddenly has second thoughts, since I invited half the people to tell them now not to come will make me out the 'bad guy'....so I guess everyone will come here instead. My place is not as big, my cooking will not be as good, but what the heck? Right? But I really feel bummed out about this, especially after so much was planned and discussed.
I've been doing some research on the net, it's taking up a lot of my free time. I'm still trying to make some serious decisons, and I discovered thinking too much about anything only makes my head hurt! But I'm still here thinking of you all.

I've been "laboring" around the house this Labor Day, that isn't any fun at all. A friend stopped by Saturday to show me his new "baby" a 2006 BMW sports car! He drove me around town and it was the coolest ride I ever took. I've never rode in such an expensive and classy car before, it made me feel like a celebrity or something. lol Sad news about the Australian Crocodile guy "Irwing" who died yesterday, I liked him and his accent...he always made me feel happy. The news of his passing was very upsetting indeed.
This may turn out to be a busy week for me, tomorrow there is a luncheon, Thursday I have to attend a meeting with a friend, and Saturday there is a barbque. Whew!!! lol
