Indian -

I found this photo today of relatives posing on an Indian Motorcycle, probably around 1915.
The picture was taken in Springfield, Mass where the motorcycle was manufacrured, the factory was called the "wigwam" and riders were known as "warriors"...maybe they still are?

In Silent Memory

"To dance at the still point of time,
Beyond pasts, within futures,
This moment now and forever, beyond minds.
Not knowing of who or why
We stroll in rose gardens, and love
Precious flowers in the sky"
(Zen)
In memory of RAD...

A few lines...

One week ago today it was a sizzling 106 degrees here in the valley. Today it is rainning and 58 degrees. The previous 3 days were very windy with gusts up to 45mph. Several trees in town
toppled over and many fires started due to the wind. Crazy weather.
David Cook won "Idol" hip hip hurray!! I was so happy for him.
KV is playing a softball game in Stockton, if it isn't rainned out. She is on one of the best teams in the state.
No big plans for Memorial Weekend, with gas at $4.00 a gallon I don't plan to travel very far from home... Boo Hoo
Maybe I'll go to "Pig Turd Alley" goggle it, it is a real street in Amador City. Take care.

Monday Thoughts

"Coffee should be black as hell, strong as death, and sweet as love"
Turkish Proverb
It's Monday....that should say it all! It is breezy here in the valley. I can hear car alarms going off in the neighborhood. Weather report is for a very hot middle of the week. That I don't like at all.
It is to early for summer. I've been fighting black widow spiders. They give me the creepy creeps. You wouldn't think someone can be so afraid of such little things...but they scare me more than a snake. My cousin was bitten by a black widow that was in his sleeping bag, he had to go to the hospital.
I'm reading the last of Tad William's Otherland series. I've enjoyed the story so much I don't want it to end. He is a magnificent story teller...
News said gas prices may hit $7.00 a gallon before long. I'd hate to see that happen. Gasoline is expensive enough now at near $4.00. Yet, even at these prices I don't see any less traffic on the road. Go figure....? Ciao

April not in Paris....

"To dance at the still pond of the time beyond time, beyond pasts, within futures, this moment.
Now and forever, beyond minds, not knowing of who or why we stroll in rose gardens and love
Precious flowers in the sky."

A Zen quote to calm my day... I pruchased 6 gallons of gas today and shelled out $25.00.
I need to convert my TV set to the DHL dealie by Feb. and I haven't a clue how to do it.
Postage rates go up another penny in May. Groceries cost to much and rice is being rationed by Costco. Hillary lies and Obama loses....what a world!!

Another Zen quote

"The drog floats belly up---in dead silence"

Enough said!!

Greyhounds

Greyhound Classes...I found this cartoon amusing. Sadly I have never been to the dog races or to Biscayne, Florida but I love the dogs. I have often thought very seriousely about adopting a greyhound. It is said that they make wonderful house dogs and are very lazy after they retire from the racetrack. I like lazy dogs I don't want to be throwing frisbees and running around all day with a dog. The only reason I hesitate is because I read once if a greyhound runs away from you, for example he wants to chase a paper bag or a leaf blowing in the wind, the dog is so focused on the object he is chasing and will not stop until he catches it...he won't listen to you if you call his name or whistle, he will just keep running at speeds I believe 20-30 mph. Then when he arrives to his destination he can't find his way home, he is totally lost because greyhounds lack a sense of smell, they are totally a visual dog and if his new surroundings are unknown to him he is lost....other than this slight flaw they are an excellent dog. I do have a couple greyhound figurines, they don't need food or water or walks, but they are not as much fun. Someday I want a greyhound, I really and truly do...or maybe a chihuahua....they have shorter legs!!!

It's Me

I just thought I'd post a few words to see if anyone is still out there. The new year hasn't brought me anything different except making me a year older.
I'm usually not into elections but I'm so hyped about Obama and hope he becomes our next president. He is super intelligent and I know he will make all the right decisions...so get out and vote in the primaries.
The writer's strike may be over...maybe some of my favorite TV shows will return. It's been so long since I seen some I think I totally forgot the plots.
After what seems like a month of rain the sun is finally out.
You all take care....did you know the plural of you all is you alls? lol Well, that's what I've been told.
